Hi! I’m Aimee-lee

A writer, editor and storytelling strategist, based between Bucks and London

Since graduating with a BA in Journalism from Cardiff University in 2015, I’ve been lucky enough to tell stories for a living – starting out as a staff writer on Oh Comely (where I wrote and commissioned content for 22 of the magazine’s 50 issues) before migrating into the third sector, where I’ve gained 7 years’ experience unearthing untold stories with sensitivity and sparkle, and helping charities cut through the noise.

In my current role as Storytelling Lead at Mencap, I act as a one-woman-case-studies-function for the learning disability charity – capturing the lived experience of people with a learning disability and their loved ones, challenging misconceptions in the media and placing human stories at the heart of everything we say and do.
